The new provision of the Article 9a of the Road Transport Act, extends the rules of the CMR Convention of international road haulage to domestic (national) road haulage alike.

There is a change in the carrier's cargo liability relating to domestic road transportation. Road hauliers as of the 1/1/19 will not have full responsibility for the domestic shipments full value. The compensation will be calculated according to a weight rate, It‘s SDR 8,33 per kg (approx 10, - EUR per 1 kg of gross weight).

The extention wil come into force on 1st January 2019. To cover the full value of your shipment we recommend additional cargo insurance.
